2010 review

They say that “birds of same feathers fly together all the time”.
Together we participated at 25 seminars; together we officially opened the Headquarters of the Foundation; together we “Welcome” the new 7 dojos al the Romanian Aikikai Aikido Foundation and together we pass in the New Year.
Always the most important thing is the end, and now at the beginning of 2011, important is the balance of the last year.
In 2010 we had 23 seminars organized by the Romanian Aikikai Aikido Foundation in our countries, 5 of them being conducted by foreign masters. Agostino Pagano Sensei, Yukimitsu Kobayashi Shihan, Motohiro Fukakusa Shihan, Wilko Vriesman Sensei and Koichi Fujii Shihan came to our country this year to teach us. I also recall Igor Shmygin Sensei (Ukraine), Mehmed Mehmedov Sensei (Bulgaria), Radostin Marinov Sensei (Bulgaria), Aleksandr Starojstov Sensei (Slovenia), Jasmin Biscevic Sensei (Slovenia) and Igor Zakarevitch Sensei (Moldavian Republic) who participated this year to the great seminar which marked the official opening of our headquarters.
The small aikidokas were not forgotten. In January and June RAAF organized for them two seminars for kids only. It was a great opportunity for them to practice hard, to make new friends and to learn how to take care of themselves.
This year we managed to continue the “Discover Aikido” Project with the brochure “Discover Aikido the Magazine”. The first edition was dedicated to our technical supervisor Masatake Fujita Shihan, and now the second edition is dedicated to Yukimitsu Kobayashi Shihan. The project will continue presenting the lives of some great Aikido masters, techniques, Aikido for children, notions of etiquette and events and news from the Foundation.
In May and November we organized the first Instructors only seminars.
This year Suceava, Topoloveni and Iasi became part of our Foundation. Also we opened three new dojos in our capital Bucharest. In Bahrain, Manama a new dojo was open expanding the borders of our organization. The vice-president of the Romanian Aikikai Aikido Foundation, Adrian Bunea Sensei conducted a seminar in Manama strengthening the friendship between the Romanian and Bahrain practitioners.
Our colleagues from Kenshin Dojo started a new project meant to present unique interviews with the Aikido master close to our Foundation.
Master Dan Puric accepted this year to become our Honorary Member and to accept our Annual Romanian Aikikai Aikido Foundation Distinction for his personality who contributed so much at the awaking of this nation. This makes us a great honor.
We established a close relationship with the “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava and starting 2011 will promote the Japanese values in its faculties.
Dojo Musubi started two new Clubs, ” Aikido Junior Club” dedicate to children and” Discover Aikido Club” dedicate to adults, promoting this way not only Aikido but Japanese culture also.
