Kokoro no Sensei
Friday evening I attended a conference of Master Dan Puric in Cluj Napoca about the medical consciousness. The Philharmonic Hall was overcrowded, but it vibrated at each sentence uttered by the Master.
I was looking around me and I saw both young and old people, ordinary people but also teachers, priests, military and civil. People of all ages from all walks of society.
All of them were focused, captivated by the message. I looked around and everyone was so focus, everyone was trying to understand the message behind his speech, or at least a part of it, message that reached the hearts of so many Romanian. Real Romanian!
He spoke about the medical consciousness, but also about the national and Christian consciousness. He spoke about consciousness in general. He spoke about the Christian love, of unconditional love, love of your fellow man, love for your country, and for all that surrounds us.
I realize, without my will, that Master Dan Puric was talking in those moments about the fundamentals of Aikido: love for all that surrounds you and about harmony with those around you and with the Universe. Exactly what my, teacher Masatake Fujita Shihan, use to tell me: Aikido must be a Way of Life, not just a self defense martial art. Aikido teaches you to love everything around you, more than that to live in harmony with everything that surrounds you. Aikido teaches you to love and treasure all human beings; it teaches you to integrate in the Universe and to understand his laws. Aikido teaches you that the greatest victory is over yourself, not upon others, because in Aikido is no competition.
In that moment I heard the Master`s words witch confirmed me what I already knew: “Not the competition is important, but the Perfection”, said Dan Puric. But in my mind I was thinking... “Perfection through Aikido”, just like Master Puric said in the interview offered by him when we offered him the Annual Distinction Romanian Aikikai Aikido Foundation becoming an Honorary Member of the Foundation.
In those moments I realize that Dan Puric is a great master. Actually, is more than a master, he is a Sensei. Because people gather around him, and listen to him, follow him and respect him. People who truly believe in him and in his Way!
Dan Puric is a Sensei of our Romanian soul.
